La Barceloneta & the sea: The city that turned around

Free · no booking Loop route

Duration
2 h 10 min approx.
Distance
4.5 km on foot
Stops
10 stops

A completely flat loop through seafaring Barcelona: from the Columbus monument and the Moll de la Fusta to the fishermen's quarter of La Barceloneta, its market and its beach, and back across the water on the Rambla de Mar. Ten stops, about four and a half kilometres and the story of a city that lived with its back to the sea until the 1992 Olympic Games. About two hours, not counting the swim or the vermouth.

  • It is a loop: you finish where you started.
  • Stop whenever you like. Your progress is saved on this phone.
  • The route and the texts load when you start, so it keeps working with patchy coverage.
  • The walk stays outdoors. The time does not include going inside the buildings.
  • Available in Spanish and English.
